Golden Museums Update

The Railroad Museum has a new exhibit:  Trains In Literature
Trains have been featured in literature since their invention in the early 19th century. The sense of adventure and mystery they can bring to a story make them a perfect setting for an engaging tale. Using the museum’s rich library collection and some special treasures from our friends, this exhibit explores the impact these stories have had in both children’s and adult literature.

This is the final week to see the Quilt Museum’s current exhibit:  In the British Tradition: Hand-Stitched Reproduction Quilts by Carolyn König

Foothills Art Center will open a new exhibit next weekend (Jan 23rd):  The Engaged Object.  Many social, political and environmental problems seem impossible to solve. In this exhibition, 30 artists who use fine craft media such as glass, textiles, ceramics and metal address these challenges from diverse viewpoints.  Join Foothills Art Center as we explore the power of art to evoke and stimulate our worldview.

The Golden History Center has closed their Coors exhibit and is working up a new exhibit about Golden’s timeline.  They have opened registration for their popular summer camps.

The Clear Creek History Park will host a branding party this Thursday from 10-12, to help celebrate the opening of the Colorado Cowboy Gathering.  Join local ranching families as they come together to display their historic brands on reclaimed wood. Listen to music, poetry and storytelling performed by real cowboys and cowgirls. Enjoy a cinnamon roll, coffee, and hot chocolate available for a small donation.
