The City, Neighborhoods, and Classic Cars

Councilor Charis-Graves normally hosts “coffee with a councilor” on the first Saturday of the month, but she’s enrolled in the Public Works Academy, which meets this morning.  Ward Two Councilor Joe Behm will be there in her place.  Joe is up for reelection this fall (though he’s unopposed) so this will be a good opportunity for people to chat with him, share their concerns, and see what he thinks about upcoming issues at the city.  He’ll be at Bean Fosters (720 Golden Ridge Road) from 10-11.  Nancy Buck of Edward Jones will buy your beverage!

The City is hosting a “Neighborhood and Volunteerism Celebration” this afternoon from 4-8 in Parfet Park.  If you don’t live in a pre-defined neighborhood, like an HOA area, you and your neighbors can self-define.  Just draw your own boundaries on a map and have some representatives come to the City’s meeting. City staff and members of the Planning Commission will be on hand to describe how you can become an official neighborhood, and why you might want to.

There will be a Super Cruise tonight, so enjoy the classic cars along South Golden Road!
