Plan to see some plays this weekend

Heritage Square Music Hall is transitioning from the hilarious 50 Shades of Loud to the equally funny Sweeney Todd.  Sweeney Todd debuts this weekend (Friday and Saturday at 8PM and Sunday at 2PM).  For those who didn’t get a chance to see it (or need to see it one more time), there will be three final performances of 50 Shades of Loud, this coming Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.  Remember, this is their last season, so see them while you can!

Miners Alley is also closing a play this weekend.  Their comedy, Wonder of the World has three more performances–Friday and Saturday at 7:30, and Sunday at 2PM.

The City is hosting two screenings of the documentary, Bully, tonight in the Foss Auditorium in the Mountaineering Center.  The Film follows a year in the lives of five students who face bullying on a daily basis. It highlights the problem of bullying and the challenges faced by teachers, administrators, parents and the victims themselves. The City is hosting these screenings as a way for parents and the community to better understand the nation-wide problem of bullying so that we can work together to find solutions particularly in Golden area schools.  Visit the City’s website to learn more about screening times and where to get tickets.
