This weekend is Golden Community Pride Days–your chance to get rid of all sorts of unwelcome possessions and debris.  You must be a City of Golden resident to use these services.

Items Accepted at Golden Community Pride Days: Household trash, Electronic waste, Mattresses, Unlimited paper shredding, Metal recycling, Tires & Tree brush Do Not Bring: Propane tanks, Batteries, Pharmaceuticals, Hazardous waste.  Bring your stuff to the City Shops facility, 1300 Catamount Drive, Golden, CO (map).

The monthly Coffee with a Councilor begins at 10AM at Bean Fosters.  This event is normally hosted by Councilor Saoirse Charis-Graves, but today we’ll have a guest host, Ward 3 Councilor Pamela Gould.  Ms. Gould will be discussing City Council’s signature initiatives for 2014/2015, which include A Vibrant Economy, Healthy People, A Connected Community, and Sustainable Choices & Environment.

The Golden Library (1019 10th St.) is holding a class for aspiring vegetable gardeners, called “Picking Plants and Transplanting Techniques.”  Learn to pick the best plants for transplanting and proper transplanting techniques from a Colorado State University trained Master Gardener.   1:30-2:30

The Methodist Church (1500 Ford St.) is having a Spring Hoedown from 6-9.  The program will include a chuck wagon dinner, a pie and cake auction, a silent auction, and line dancing.  The cost is $7 per person.

This is the first official Golden Super Cruise of the season.  Look for hundreds of classic cars gathering along South Golden Road, starting in the early afternoon.
