The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum will be hosting an Opening Reception for a new exhibit Material Witnesses: New Work from the Manhattan Quilters Guild. A diverse group of New York City-area quiltmakers illustrates their interpretations of New York City experiences in fiber, using a wide variety of unique and unusual materials and techniques. The images are concrete as well as abstract…..a very interesting exhibit. The reception will take place from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Museum, 1213 Washington Avenue.
After the exhibit, you can wander over to Parfet Park for this summer’s first Movies & Music in the Park. Rock music from the Boomers starts at 7:00 p.m., and Madagascar 3 will begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. Bring a picnic or take advantage of the several vendors selling all sorts of goodies, including popcorn, of course. Get there early because this wildly popular event attracts a big crowd! Parfet Park is at 10th and Washington.
