Experience Olde Golden Christmas

If the cold weather kept you indoors last weekend, today is the day to make up for it.  Head downtown and experience a wonderful Olde Golden Christmas Saturday!

The parade will go down Washington Avenue at 11, so be sure to be there by that time.  Free carriage rides will run from 12-4, and the Newfoundland Dog Cart rides will run from 12-3.  The Victorian carolers will be strolling the Avenue from 11:30-1:30, and Meyer Hardware will host a fantastic Celtic guitarist (Jerry Barlow) from 1-3.  The Golden Library will host a program for teens from 2-3:30, during which the teens can make a card and a gift for mom.

Have you seen the new book about Olde Golden Christmas?  It’s beautiful!  It contains 147 full-color photos of the Candlelight Walk, the parades, the holiday light display, and more.  If you love Golden, you’ll want a copy for yourself.  If you have relatives who love to visit, you’ll need copies for them.  If you plan to give gifts to neighbors, teachers, or local friends, consider Olde Golden Christmas!  It’s available at the Avenue Gifts, Baby Doe’s, the Quilt Museum, and the Golden History Museum.  The author, Barb Warden, will be signing copies at Baby Doe’s (1116 Washington Avenue) today between 11:30 and 2.
