Earth Day Activities

The Golden Oldy Cyclery is hosting an Earth Day bike ride starting at 9:30. The route will highlight sustainability topics. After the ride, participants are invited to tour the Cyclery and its world class collection of Victorian bicycles and bicycle memorabilia.

Mayor Marjorie Sloan will lead a downtown bike ride (about 1.5-2 miles) in honor of both Earth Day and National Bicycle Greenway Day. This ride starts at 10.

In celebration of Earth Day, there will be a Street Clean-up of Illinois Street between 19th and 23rd Streets between 5 and 6. This group will also be celebrating the new solar installation at Fossil Trace.

The Golden Library is currently showing Earth Day artwork by Mitchell and Shelton Elementary School students. They will have an artists reception between 6 and 7:30. The art is inspired by nature, using recycled materials.
