The folks at the DocuWest Film Festival had a great surprise for last night’s audience.  The feature film was Good Ol’ Freda, a documentary about the Beatles’ early years and rise to fame.  After the credits rolled, they raised the screen, and behind it was the iconic trap set that always stood in the middle of a Beatles set.  Then a Beatles tribute band came out and played about ten songs.  They were great–spot on recreations of the early Beatles.  What a fun opening night!  DocuWest runs today through Sunday, so plan to go, and see what other delights they spring on us.

City Council meets tonight at 6:30 at City Hall.  The meeting will be aired live on Cable Channel 8 and streamed through the city website.
