If you want to join tonight’s Candlelight Walk, head to Foothills Art Center (15th and Washington) at about 6. The Lions Club will be on hand, serving hot drinks.  The Chamber will be selling candles for 50 cents each.

Come a little early and walk through the Holiday Art Mart at Foothills Art Center.  Santa will be on hand in one of the galleries, so here’s a chance to get a photo with Santa.

The walk down the hill will begin at about 6:30.  As the group passes through each block of Washington Avenue, those lights will be illuminated.  When they reach the Visitors Center, they’ll enjoy a brief holiday show, then the Mayor will flip a switch and all the trees along Clear Creek will light up!

After that, enjoy treats and entertainment all along the Creek.  The Visitors Center will have wassail and cookies.  The Golden History Center will have roasted chestnuts.  The library is also serving refreshments and hosting a book sale.

Music will be everywhere…one Christmas carol sing-along will take place in the Rotary Amphitheater (on the Creek, behind the fire department).  Another will take place in the Clear Creek History Park.  Musicians will be playing the antique instruments at the History Museum, and Baby Doe’s will host a jazz group playing holiday favorites.  Golden High School’s wonderful 24th Street Singers will also be on hand, looking and sounding great!

Golden has a lot of nice events during the year, but this one is the prettiest and most enchanting!
