Astronomically speaking, this is a pretty cool week.

Today is the summer solstice–the longest day of the year.  The moon is waxing, so after an extra-long day, we’ll have a beautiful night.

The Mountaineering Museum is hosting a reception tonight for the opening of “The Shawangunks,” a portfolio of etchings by New York artist Gregory William Frux. The exhibit, which will run through the summer in the Museum’s gallery space, also features selected mountain paintings of North and South America.  Museum admission is free and Avery Beer will be available for $2.
