You can’t Be A Tool…but you can buy one.

If you can’t see a video above, view it on YouTube.

The Neighborhood Rehab Project program is in its 8th year of helping Golden residents stay warm, dry, and safe. Imagine a senior who has lived in Golden for fifty years. The house is paid off and she can scrape together the property tax each year, but she can’t afford to pay someone to patch her roof or paint her shed or fix a leak. This is where the Neighborhood Rehab Product comes in. Once a year, hundreds of volunteers sign up to help their neighbors with fixing/painting/yard work-type projects.  They help senior adults, disabled people, veterans, single parents, and financially burdened individuals referred to their organization.  Learn more….

This approach has been so successful that other cities–Idaho Springs, Englewood, and Arvada–now have Neighborhood Rehab days of their own…but it all started in Golden, the brainchild of local construction guy Dan Thoempke.

This year’s “Be a Tool” Day of Service is scheduled for September 8th. The last day to sign up to help was August 26th (don’t say I didn’t warn you), but they can use cash donations to help pay for paint, caulk, and all those other house-fixing supplies. If you’d like to donate to the cause, visit this page and click the “Register” button.

At 7PM, Mountain Toad is hosting the world premier of a 30-minute documentary of Project Baja’s 2017 Baja 1000 run:  A 6-person video crew followed us from Ensenada to La Paz and captured some amazing footage, and RoadshowAutos put it all together to make something awesome. We’re stoked, you’re stoked, and we’re gonna be showing it on the projector at the Toad! Let’s gather ’round about 7:00 p.m., and we’ll probably fire the projector up around 7:30 or 8:00 p.m… and if people want we can always watch it a time or two. And don’t worry, if you can’t make it we’ll also post the link to view when we know it what it is, so people who aren’t in Denver/Golden can watch!
