Buffalo Bill Days starts tonight in Parfet Park. Golden’s favorite girl group, the Skeleton Dolls, will kick off the weekend by performing in the park from 5-6:15. They will be followed by Chris Daniels & the Kings from 7-8:15 and Hazel Miller from 8:45-10. That’s some amazing music, and it’s all free!
Tomorrow morning, you can start the day with the Fire Department’s pancake breakfast. They will be open from 6-10AM. Tip: If you want to avoid the ticket-buying line, which gets long as 10 o’clock approaches, stop by the fire department today to buy your tickets in advance.
The Buffalo Bill Days parade starts at 10AM Saturday. It runs along Washington Avenue, starting at 10th Street and turning off at 13th Street. The Cody family is in town to help commemorate the 100th anniversary of Buffalo Bill Cody’s death and burial on Lookout Mountain. The entire family will be the grand marshals for this year’s parade. The Wild West Show will begin at 12:30 at Lions Park.
There’s more, but I’ll cover the rest tomorrow–I just wanted to alert you to the morning events for now.
Party at the Quilt Museum!
The Quilt Museum has opened two new exhibits, and they’re having their opening night reception tonight from 6-8PM. This is a great opportunity to see “Civil War Quilts” and “Quilts of Caohagan Island.” There will be refreshments, admission is free, and everyone is welcome!
