Yarn Bombs, Survival, Chocolate, Capital Improvements, and the Astor House

ArtsWeek Golden continues today. The Ladies Fancywork Society will be embellishing and transforming the downtown sculptures with yarn bombs!

6:30-7:30PM Natural Grocers is hosting a Nutrition Seminar tonight. PranaTonic’s acupuncturist, Greg Cicciu, will tell you how to ease your anxiety with chocolate in his nutrition seminar titled Chocolate 1 vs Anxiety 0.

6:30PM The Golden Urban Renewal Authority meets tonight in City Council Chambers. They will review the June 18th GURA/DDA open house. According to the meeting notes, it was attended by “more than 30” members of the public, who expressed the following capital improvement priorities for the various urban renewal areas:

Central Neighborhoods
1) Walkability/Safety improvements
2) Workforce/Attainable/Affordable Housing
3) Enhanced Transit
West Colfax
1) Workforce/Attainable/Affordable Housing (tied with below)
2) Walkability and Bike Improvements (tied with above)
3) Heritage Square Area
4) Enhanced Transit
Parfet/Briarwood
1) Walkability Safety
2) Workforce/Attainable/Affordable Housing
3) 8th to 10th Streets Road Connection
Downtown
1) Clear Creek Area

6:30PM The Historic Preservation Board will meet at 6:30 in the Public Works building. The City would like to sell the Astor House, and the Board will hear about its proposed commercial use.
