6-7:30PM The School of Mines will share their growth plans tonight in a community meeting at Mines Park Community Center II, 2001 Infinity Circle (map). We will see big changes and many new buildings over the next decade. For a preview of the changes, see the Mines Master Plan.

6-8PM Award-winning historian Maurice Isserman visits the Mountaineering Center tonight to discuss his latest book, THE WINTER ARMY: The World War II Odyssey of the 10th Mountain Division, America’s Elite Alpine Warriors (publication date: November 5, 2019). Doors Open: 6PM | Talk Begins: 6:30PM, followed by Q&A and book signing.

The book tells the epic story of the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, whose elite soldiers broke the last line of German defenses in Italy’s mountains in 1945, spearheading the Allied advance to the Alps and final victory. Drawing on a wealth of unpublished material, including troves of diaries and letters written in the heat of battle, Isserman brings this story to life like never before.

Tickets are $5 and proceeds benefit the American Mountaineering Museum.
