Heart & Soul for Fun & Profit

February 14, 2020

Happy Valentine’s Day, Dear Readers!

On behalf of the Golden Cultural Alliance, thank you to City Council, who proclaimed February Heart and Soul of Golden Month at last night’s City Council meeting. Thanks also to the Golden Cultural Alliance Members who were there last night to receive the Proclamation: Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering (Frank Blaha and Marcie Miller), Colorado Railroad Museum (James Smith), Foothills Art Center (Sherry McEachran), Golden Beer Talks (Barb Warden), Golden Chamber of Commerce (Nola Krajewski), Golden Landmarks Association (Bill Litz), and Miners Alley Playhouse (Lisa DeCaro).

Highlights from the Proclamation included the facts that Golden’s Cultural Facilities host about 700,000 visitors per year, that those visitors spend about $28 apiece on other things–shopping, dining, etc.–while they’re in town. In other words, Golden’s Cultural organizations are a gold mine for our local economy. Plus…they make life in Golden a lot more fun!
