Cool, cloudy weather is here, just in time to remind us of why some things are shutting down for the season. Here’s what’s happening in Golden today:

FINAL Golden Farmers Market for the season
Last chance till next spring to buy fresh produce, baked goods, salsa, etc. from the Golden Farmers Market.
9AM-4PM
Fall Tack Sale at the Horse Protection League
You’ll find incredible bargains on saddles, bridles, headstalls, blankets…everything the well-dressed horse needs! And for your own dressing needs, check out their new HPL-branded t-shirts and hoodies. For the little ones, you’ll find some cute and cuddly stuffed horse toys.

Green Homes Tour
This year’s tour includes 7 homes in Golden and many others in Arvada and the foothills. The homes will be open from 9AM to 4PM and you can visit as many or as few as you like. You can register for the tour and receive the map and guidebook online or do it in person at the Jefferson Unitarian Church – 14350 W. 32nd Ave (map).

Coffee with Councilor Saoirse Charis-Graves
Golden City Councilor Saoirse Charis-Graves will be Bean Fosters this morning to talk to constituents about any questions or concerns they have regarding Golden.

Worldwide Photowalk
On the first Saturday of October each year, photographers and enthusiasts around the world get out their cameras and meet up at a designated location in their town to walk around and take photograph. The Golden group will meet in the Library parking lot. More info….

Avalanche Harley Davidson is hosting Hogtoberfest and will be serving $1 beers • Free brats and pretzels.

Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Miners Alley Children’s Theater
Ichabod Crane has come to Sleepy Hollow to teach, but what he learns there nearly frightens him out of his wits! Watch as Ichabod learns of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and tries to escape the clutches of the Headless Horseman.

Golden Elks 30th Anniversary Celebration
The Golden Elks invite you to attend an Open House event at their Lodge, 16795 W. 50th Avenue, Golden, CO (map).

FINAL Golden Super Cruise for the Season
Classic cars will congregate along South Golden Road and will be seen driving around town all day. If the weather is nice, car owners often continue to visit Golden on first Saturdays throughout the winter, but October is the last official cruise for this year.

Model Railroad Show at the RR Museum
The High Plains 3 Railers present a weekend of 3 Rail Model Railroading at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy the sights and sounds of classic toy trains from 1925 to the present.
