In the spirit of the season, the Golden Library’s DIY Lab is offering Witches’ Brew and DIY, Too! from 5:30-7:30PM. Do you like to tinker, invent and reimagine things? Drop in and use our DIY space to get creative. Learn how to make Witches’ Brew and sample it, too. Then, create some Halloween DIY projects. Festive fun! Suitable For: All ages.
Since this is the last Monday of the month, Barrels & Bottles will be holding Acoustic Mondays Open Mic Night from 6:30-9:30PM. Come display your talents and receive a free house pint or selected wine. Come listen to others displaying their talents, and enjoy $1 off selected beers & wines.
This afternoon from 3-6PM, the City will host a Community Exchange & Housing Resource Fair at the Community Center (map). They will be discussing ways to build affordable housing while dealing with our 1% growth limit. One option would be to borrow from future housing allocations and one would be to resurrect unused allocations from the past. They will also discuss finding revenue to subsidize housing, thereby making it more affordable. They describe see what other communities do to increase and maintain affordable housing.
In addition, if you are interested in learning what resources are available to help find affordable rental housing, purchase your first home or help you with home repairs, there will be representatives from multiple area agencies available to answer your questions and connect you with the available assistance.
