Happy Father’s Day! If you’re looking for some active Dad Time, check out some of Golden’s 253 acres of parks and 24 miles of trails.  If you’re more the sitting and talking type, the breweries or distilleries would be a nice place to while away the afternoon.  Whatever you do–enjoy your day.

The Library has an interesting program scheduled today. From 12-1:30PM Lieutenant Colonel Max Frazier, an Associate Professor of English from the US Air Force Academy, will commemorate America’s entrance into World War I with a reading from and discussion about Willa Cather’s Pulitzer Prize-winning WWI novel, One of Ours.

Now let’s talk about some things you can’t do. The Library’s programs for young people are popular, and they fill up quickly. This afternoon, there’s a Robotics Roundup for ages 11-14. It’s waitlisted. Tomorrow there’s a Build With Food program for ages 4-8. Registration is closed, with no waiting list. On Tuesday, there’s a program for all ages about magic. It’s waitlisted.

There are plenty of programs still available this week, such as story times, Lego Play & Build, Fundamentals with Fran, the Tuesday night book group (Tallgrass by Sandra Dallas). But some things do fill up. If you have kids who might like some of the hard-to-get-in programs, keep an eye on the schedule of upcoming events. You can sign up online or do it in person at the library.
