As every parent knows, day camps fill up quickly. It’s not too early to be thinking about what your kids will be doing this summer. Fortunately, Golden has some wonderful options! Goldentoday keeps an ongoing list of summer camps & classes, as well as options for the spring & winter breaks.
For elementary school children, the Golden History Museums offer a Hands-On History Camp, where children learn pioneer skills, such as wood stove cooking. If your child is more of a paleontologist at heart, consider the Dinosaur Ridge camp. Have an artist? Foothills Art Center has just what you need. Naturalist? Try Eagle’s Nest Owl’s Roost, offerred by 4H. Engineer? We have one of the foremost engineer schools in the world right here in Golden…and they have summer camps! The camp at the City of Golden Recreation Center makes full use their facilities–the gym, the pool, and the park–plus they have weekly field trips.
There are several options for teens as well, offered by the School of Mines, City of Golden, and Colorado Mountain Club.
You can even send your kid to a mini-finishing school. Whether they need table manners or survival skills, summer in Golden offers opportunities to provide them. Check the Camps and Classes page.
