6:30-8:30PM The City is holding their first public workshop tonight for the Heart of Golden project in City Council Chambers. This is the process of asking the public whether they would like to redesign how the Creekfront property is laid out and used–including the new stretch with the Coors office building. Do you want a new City Hall, Fire Department, Police Station, History Museum, Art Museum, and Theater? How about more housing? More Creek-related attractions? A permanent stage in Parfet Park? More bike paths? More public art? Do you want to leave everything as-is? Tonight’s the night to start stating your preferences.

The project phases and workshop dates are as follows:
Visioning
– Jan 29th and Feb 12th
Refining – March 11 and April 8th
Funding – May 13th and June 10th
Selecting – July 8th and Aug 12th

Tonight is the phase where everyone can specify their wildest dreams of what to do with the property. Eventually they’ll get to the “and how would you like to pay for this?” phase, and we’ll be given a chance to vote on it this November. If you can’t make it to the workshop, enter your ideas and opinions using the online survey.
