At 5:30 tonight, the City will host a reception in City Council Chambers honoring the outgoing City Councilors (Joe Behm, Pamela Gould, and Marcia Claxton) and welcoming the new ones (Jim Dale, Paul Haseman, and Robert Reed).  You’re invited!

At 6:30, the old Council will be seated for the last time.  They will set the City Manager’s salary for 2018 ($178,500) and give him a $5,000 bonus.  They will also set the municipal judge’s salary at $50,085.  Then the three retiring Councilors will make last remarks, followed by the three new Councilors being sworn in.

2018 Housing Allocations in Golden Colorado19th and Ford Streets

After the swearing-in ceremony, the Planning Department will announce the housing allocations available for the year, pursuant to the “1% Growth Limit.”  As of January 1, 2018, Golden had 8606 housing units.  The 1% limit was actually cut to 0.9% a few years ago, so the number of new housing allocations available this year will be 8606 x 0.9% = 77 new dwelling units.  The meeting packet includes a memo that outlines how many units have been added each year since 2000.
