Weeds, Drugs, Horses, and Light Rail

This is the day to drop off your noxious weed myrtle spurge at the Jefferson County Human Services Building, 900 Jefferson County Parkway, from 10-2.

This is also the day to purge your medicine cabinet of old prescription medications.  The Golden Police are having a drug take-back day at City Hall between 10-2.  This is a good way to make sure they’re properly disposed of.  (Never send prescription medications down the drain…they are difficult to treat in the wastewater system.)

The Golden Gate Grange is hosting a Horse Fair today from noon till 4.  They will have a new and used tack sale, trainers, the Golden Gate Vaulters, a Civil War Reenactor, representatives from local parks, the Horse Protection League, and the Buffalo Bill Riding Club.  Information will be available on horse food and supplements.  Local historian Mary Ramstetter will be on hand, as will realtors with information on horse properties.  Yoga for equestrians will be offered at 1.  Admission is free, and there will be a door prize!

Today is the one-year anniversary of Light Rail’s arrival in Golden!  If you’ve never ridden it, or are a bit foggy on the details of how to do it, check out Light Rail page.
