Walking with dinosaurs, climbing trees, and gardening

Have you ever walked the Triceratops Trail?  It’s a 1.5-mile, gravel hiking trail located one block east of 6th Avenue and 19th Street in Golden, Colorado.  The trail winds between large, vertical walls of sandstone and into reclaimed clay pits.

Today, from 10-2, guides from Dinosaur Ridge will be stationed along the trail, explaining the geology and paleontology along the route.  The trailhead is a bit tricky to find, but you’ll find directions on the Dinosaur Ridge website.

The Community Center is offering one of their tree-climbing classes (“Dances with Branches) today.  It’s probably too late to sign up for this one, but if you’re passing by Parfet Park between noon and 2:30, you might enjoy watching them climb those big cottonwoods.

The Golden Community Garden is offering at class at 12:30 on Basic Organic Gardening.  Everyone is invited.
