Golden Votes is hosting a get-out-the-vote extravaganza tomorrow, starting at 1PM in the parking lot west of the library. They’ll have singers, the Golden High School Drumline, Girl Scouts, and, because this is Golden, belly dancers. At 2PM, there will be a parade from the library to the ballot box in City Hall, where former state representative Gwyn Green will drop the first ballot.
They’ll also have a lot of children’s activities, such coloring books, a photo op with the Statue of Liberty, a photo of with veterans, and a children’s parade to the ballot box.
Golden Votes and Jim Smith are also sponsoring two showings of Iron Jawed Angels tomorrow at the library–once at 11:15 and once at 2:30PM. This is a good movie, dramatizing women’s fight to get the right to vote.
Ballots are being mailed to homes this week, so if you’ve received yours, bring it along and take this opportunity to vote!
