Many Golden-area children qualify for the free and reduced lunch program at school. The school lunch ensures that they have at least one well-balanced, filling meal each day. Over the weekend, these same children may go hungry. The Golden Backpack Program provides these children with a backpack full of nutritious, non-perishable food to take home over the weekend. This program is looking for volunteers. The shifts are short, and the work is so valuable to our community. Please consider lending a hand.
