Night at the Museums
Several museums in town will be open late tonight, with free admission, as part of Denver Arts Week. Foothills Art Center will be lighting up for the holiday season and will host a scavenger hunt in their sculpture garden. They’ll be open from 5-8PM. The Golden History Center will be open from 4:30-8. This is a good opportunity to see the new Epic Events Exhibit and take a selfie in from of the huge photo depicting tourists with donkeys. Dinosaur Ridge will be offering Flashlight Tours from 5-9PM. The CSM Geology Museum will also be open late, starting at 5PM. See their moon rocks, the Miss Colorado crown, antique mining artifacts, and thousands of wonderful mineral specimens and gemstones.
Here’s some good news: the Golden Optimists Club Bicycle Recycling Program has been looking for a new home since their shop at Heritage Square was closed down for redevelopment. Jim Smith has been temporarily hosting them in his parking lot at Golden Real Estate. Now they’ve found a permanent home at Jeffco Connections Learning Center on Johnson Road. This is a great resolution, because the students will be able to learn about fixing bikes and helping the community. There’s an online fund-raiser going on at generosity.com to help equip the new repair shop.
Don’t forget to set your clocks back tonight. Daylight savings time will be over at 1AM.
