Tonight’s Street Fair has been cancelled, because of the rain, lightening, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.  We’ll try again next month, on July 3rd!

Why not come downtown to eat, anyway?  It’s Friday night!

Tomorrow morning is our first Farmers Market of the year.  Go to 10th and Illinois between 8AM and 1PM for fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen fish and meats, fresh breads, canned condiments and sweets, locally-made wines, plus wonderful pasta and unique cooking ingredients.

Councilor Saoirse Charis-Graves will hold her monthly Coffee with a Councilor from 10-11 at Bean Fosters, 720 Golden Ridge Road (map).  This is a good chance to learn about and discuss Golden issues.

State Representative Jessie Danielson is hosting a Town Hall meeting from 10-11 at City Hall, 911 10th Street (map).  That’s the place to go to learn more about state-wide issues.

The Colorado State Patrol is holding a Safety Fair from 11AM-4PM at 15055 South Golden Road (map).  It sounds like fun.  Their activities include a distracted driving simulator & games, child passenger safety seat checks, tips on crime prevention, teen driving safety, motorcycle, wildlife, fire, railroad & internet safety, tours of the CSP Academy and Law Enforcement Memorial, and the chance to meet local emergency responders, state troopers and recruiters. Free fun activities for kids include: a Flight for Life helicopter, a bike rodeo, bouncy castle, face painting, balloon art, crafts, and kids’ fire truck and gear.

The Golden Super Cruise happens tomorrow night from 5-9 along South Golden Road.  Plan to walk from between Johnson Road (Taco Bell) and Ulysses (King Soopers) to check out all the classic cars parked along the route.  Golden Real Estate’s parking lot will have a special gathering of electric vehicles, so if you’re thinking of getting one of those, this is a good opportunity to see a bunch of them gathered in one place.

I’ll probably repeat some of this information tomorrow, but I wanted you to know what was coming!
