Goosetown is the neighborhood along 10th Street, east of Ford. The Colorado Central Railroad was based there, and there were several boarding houses to accommodate the railroad workers and their families. The Omaha House was one of those boarding houses.

The August 8, 1912 Colorado Transcript describes a group that was itchin' for some good old-fashioned frontier justice.
Goosetown was thrown into a furor of excitement Sunday night, when it was reported that robbers were ransacking the saloon at the Omaha house . Shotguns, Winchesters and clubs were hurried to the scene of action, and it looked for a time as though the battle with the Paris auto thieves would be tame in comparison. One man rushed, Paul Revere like, through the east end of the city wildly calling on the citizens, and with a double-barreled shot gun in his hands, he marshaled a brigade to the scene of action. With guards stationed at the front and rear doors, the doughty would-be captors waited. However, their good and brave intentions were all for naught, as it was discovered that the alarm had been caused by the young son of the proprietor stumbling over some chairs. While the posses were gathering, the lad calmly went to sleep in a chair, and was found there by the guards.
