The District Attorney’s Safety Fair happens today at the fairgrounds from 9AM-1PM. They’ll have safety demonstrations, kids’ activities, and 70 booths with exhibitors offering crime prevention tips, giveaways, demonstrations, and valuable safety information Among many other things, they’ll have
* Document shredding (5 box limit)
* Prescription roundup
* 911 cell phones for seniors
* Bicycle rodeo for kids
Also at the Fairgrounds (map) is the Jefferson County Fair & Festival, running from 10AM-10PM. They’ll have live music, mutton bustin’, craft beer tasting, 4H displays, garden talks, a magician, Gladius horse performances, and a rodeo at 7PM. Dinosaur Ridge is exploring reptiles and birds today from 10AM-2PM. Come on over to Dinosaur Ridge today to see live birds and reptiles! We’ll be celebrating the relationships between these groups of animals with special guests like the Denver Zoo, Wild Wings Environmental Education, and many more! We’ll also have hands-on dinosaur stations at the Visitor Center and scientists along our trail to teach about the fossil footprints, bones, and the local geology to visitors.
At 10:30AM, the Railroad Museum is offering a behind-the-scenes tour led by the Curator, Elizabeth Nosek, who designed the current “Eating on the Rails” exhibt. She’ll take you on a tour of the museum’s train cars featuring unique kitchens.
If you’re a member or volunteer for the Colorado Cowboy Gathering, you should head to the Railroad Museum at 5:30 to enjoy a barbecue and a private concert featuring the Yampa Valley Boys. (If you’re not a member, this is the perfect time to become one!) The cost for both dinner & concert is only $15!
