Trains, Shakespeare(ish), Our Town, and Music Today, and Multiple Egg Hunts Tomorrow

Things to do Friday:

The Railroad Museum will offer a “Highlights Tour” this afternoon from 1-2PM. The cost is $3 each, plus general admission

Foothills Art Center will host the High Grade Release Party from 5:30-7:30PM. High Grade is CSM’s annual art and literary journal, featuring all genres of original fiction, poetry, photography, art, and music from students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We’re dedicated to putting the Arts back in STEM, full steam!

Mines Little Theater will present Love’s Labour’s Lost tonight at 7PM in the new Coorstek Engineering and Applied Sciences building, rooms 140 & 150 (map). This version will be Shakespeare-problem-play-turned-modern-musical. Want to know what Papa John’s pizza has to do with Shakespeare? Do you love cats so much that you could sing about it? Do you just want to take a break and need a good laugh? Then this musical is for you. Tickets are $5 for Mines students and staff and $7 for the general public.

Warning: There are only two weekends left to see Our Town at Miners Alley Playhouse. It’s a great production. I saw it, and you should too!

Easter Celebrations on Saturday:

  • 10AM SHARPEaster Egg Hunt in Parfet Park for kids 9 and under, presented by the Golden Chamber, the Golden Kiwanis Club, Builders Club, Key Club, and Circle K will present an . It starts at 10 and ends within minutes, so be there early.
  • 10AM-4PM – Bunny Express Train at the Railroad Museum. Ride in a vintage passenger coach, visit the Easter Bunny and Spike Railyard Hound, and collect Candy.
  • 10:30 – PREaster Hunt EGGstravaganza at the Buffalo Rose. Doors open at 10:30, Egg Hunt at 10:50, followed by baloon animals, a ventriloquist and puppets. There will be a $5 cover charge (2 and under free) and breakfast burritos, bellinis, mimosas, and bloody marys will be available for purchase.
  • 1PM Eggmania/Easter Egg Hunt at the Golden Gate Grange (map) – FREE event open to all! Bring hard boiled eggs for dyeing & decorating followed by an Easter egg hunt & visit from the Easter Bunny! Easter Baskets & dyeing materials will be provided.
