Last night’s Planning Commission meeting was well-attended. Many citizens expressed concern about the proposed 72 apartment/48 hotel room development on 8th Street. In general, they were uneasy about the increasing population density and traffic on that street and the parallel streets. After much deliberation, the Commission voted to table the case until February, and asked the developers to meet with the Public Works department to try to improve the traffic plans for that area of town.
The Public Art Commission meets this morning at 9AM in City Council Chambers. The artist for the new artwork-in-progress for Highway 93 will be present to show a model of the project.
