My friend, Dave Powers, took these pictures on February 7, 2018. The Buffalo Rose was undergoing a massive remodeling at that time, and it was a fascinating opportunity to see interior walls that hadn’t seen daylight for nearly a century.

The several buildings that make up the present-day Buffalo Rose have served as restaurants and bars, a barber shop, department store, roller skating rink, swimming pool, and garage. The next time you visit the Rose, look for the plaques that describe those earlier uses!

*The architect’s rendering (shown above) appeared on the fence that surrounded the building during construction. The photo below (Google images) shows the final product.*
