6-7PM Tonight – Community Meeting – Sexually Violent Predator Living in Our Community
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will host a public meeting to provide education on sexually violent predators and to give the community information that may enhance public safety. Due to the content of the information that will be presented, it is not advisable to bring children to the meeting. Children under 15 unaccompanied by an adult will not be permitted to attend. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has no legal authority to direct where a sex offender may live. Unless court restrictions exist, sex offenders are are constitutionally free to live where they choose. By law, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is required to actively notify citizens when a sexually violent predator is moving into their area.Citizens are reminded that it is illegal to harass, threaten or intimidate a registered sex offender. It’s time to get your tickets:
The Golden Civic Foundation is proud to announce that the 3rd Annual Golden Summer Jam will be held on Thursday, June 27th at the Colorado Railroad Museum from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. and features live music, food and fun for all ages. The goal of this summertime event is to connect with Golden families and residents, promote community involvement and celebrate Golden’s small town, friendly atmosphere.

The evening will feature live music by three bands with Golden connections including Dorado, Bowregard and The Great Salmon Famine, and the chance to explore the Museum’s scenic,15-acre railyard that is home to more than 100 locomotives, passenger cars and cabooses. Guests can enjoy a ride on the Galloping Goose Railway and also delight in the charm of a fully operational miniature garden railway. Food and beverage will be sold by New Terrain Brewing Co. (beer), Ace Liquor (wine), Bob’s Atomic Burgers, and the Crock Spot and Mooontime Crepes food trucks. Local non-profit organizations will also be on-site with family-oriented, interactive activities. You only have two weekends left to see Queen of Conspiracy at Miners Alley Playhouse, so if you haven’t purchased tickets yet, you’d better get going! All proceeds from tomorrow night’s performance will go to The Denver Actors Fund. As the theater points out, that includes the bar. “So the more you drink, the more you give, plus the show is even MORE entertaining!”
