Solar Power - Golden Colorado

The Sustainability Board meets tonight at 6PM (note the earlier time) in City Council Chambers.  They will discuss the Community Solar Ballot Initiative.  They will also review several steps designed to integrate sustainability into all city plans and decisions.  Staff will report on plans to issue an RFP for companies who can provide energy audits for Golden homeowners.

Members of the Sustainability and Parks and Rec boards attended a Planning Commission study session last week.  The topic was open space, and whether Golden should acquire some, to protect us from becoming uncomfortably dense or being too encroached upon by neighboring cities.  The study session was not recorded, so the results of the conversation are a mystery.

City Council meets tomorrow night at 6:30 in City Council Chambers.  The Mayor will proclaim June 2nd to be Gun Violence Awareness Day.  Council will vote on a resolution to authorize the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to do an archaeological dig on the Magic Mountain site, near the Apex trailhead.  They will consider a final plat to subdivide the lot on the southeast corner of 8th and Arapahoe to accommodate four townhomes.  This item will have a public hearing.

After the business meeting, the Communications Manager will present the Communications Master Plan for the City.  The plan emphasizes making the City website the primary source of information about Golden.  They want to promote the city and share positive stories about it.
