While our December weekends are party-heavy, the business of the city continues from Monday through Friday. This week’s meetings are:
Monday – Historic Preservation Board, 7 pm, City Council Chambers. HPB will consider the “appropriateness” of a new 10-unit condo development proposed for the 8th and 9th Street Historic District.
Wednesday – Planning Commission, 7 pm, City Council Chambers. The planning commission will consider a plan to build an indoor climbing center in the Golden Ridge area (Heritage Road and Hwy 6). They will also continue their discussions of proposed changes to the 1% growth limit.
Thursday – City Council. Council will convene at 6, but will immediately go into Executive Session to discuss the City Manager’s annual evaluation. The regular public meeting will reconvene at 7. Their agenda includes awarding a bid to remodel the office space at the water treatment plant for use by the IT Department; considering an ordinance that would require that changes to non-commercial building greater than 50 years old be reviewed by the Historic Preservation Board; creating a new classification for a a residential water tap to be used in a “single family attached” structure. They will also hold a public hearing on the 2013 budget. The regular meeting will be followed by a 30 minute study session to discuss GURA‘s current status, projects, and budget.
