Tonight – The Downtown Development Authority meets at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will discuss demolishing the downtown planters in favor of something new; parking strategies, updating the alley between 14th and 15th Streets, painting the word “Golden” on the arch at 13th and Ford with gold paint, and price and color options for new trash/recycling units downtown. This meeting will be broadcast live via the city website.
Tuesday – The Parks & Recreation Board will meet at 7PM at the Golden Community Center. They will discuss the recent public meeting about the Bachman property; consider a request by the Optimist Club for storage; review the Parks Master Plan schedule and progress, discuss fitness stations, and talk about the “lid” that will go in as part of the 6th Avenue & 19th Street interchange. Thursday – City Council will meet at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will interview executive recruiters and select one to assist in finding a new City Manager. City Staff will request that four staff members be allowed to rent offices in the Golden Visitors Center. Two of the staff members are currently located in the new Public Works/Planning building, and two are part-time and currently share space when they are in the office. The initial move will cost about $28,000 in IT costs, and ongoing rent will be $16,000/year. Finally, council will be updated on the status of Pay as You Throw implementation. This meeting is broadcast live on cable channel 8 and through the city website.
