The Parks & Rec Board will meet tomorrow night (Dec 1st) at 7 in the Community Center. They will discuss what to name the City’s newest park, located at Ridge Road & Cressman Court. Several people from the neighborhood attended the last City Council meeting, asking that it be named in honor of the late Barbara Foss. You can speak during the public comment section of the meeting if you want to weigh in on this issue.
The Planning Commission meets Wednesday night (December 2nd) at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. They will hold two public hearings: one regarding eight new duplexes to be built at 18300 W. 4th Ave., and one to consider a request from the School of Mines to rezone 1523 Illinois Street so they can construct a new building to replace Meyer Hall.
The Public Art Commission will meet Thursday morning (December 3rd) at 9AM in City Council Chambers. Their agenda will be posted on this page when it is available.
City Council meets Thursday night at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. City Staff is requesting that this year’s budget to amended to allow $480K in additional expenditures. They will also vote on whether to accept the 2016 budget. Council has held several public hearings on the proposed budget over the past few months, and the document slated for approval this week is the result of those hearings as well as Council discussion.
The meeting packets for these meetings appear on the City website. Parks & Rec, Planning, Public Art, and City Council will be broadcast live, and a recording of Parks & Rec will be posted some time after the meeting.
Tomorrow, I’ll be posting the preview of our packed schedule of December events.
