Tonight from 5:30-8:30 is Thirsty Thursday at the Mountaineering Museum. The Museum will be celebrating their 5th birthday, and the Golden City Brewery is providing a keg! Admission is free, and a $2 donation is suggested for the beer. There will be prizes, snacks, crafts, free museum admission, and live music. There are two really good exhibits currently on display: the 2013 Environmental Photography Exhibt, and Jesse Crock’s “Views of Golden.”
City Council will meet at 6:30. They will appoint two new members to the campaign election board. Dan Hartman (Public Works) will update council on the closure of the Boyd Street West Bound Ramp. Mark Heller of GURA will update council on the proposed Downtown Development Authority which will probably replace GURA when it sunsets in two years. Jeff Hansen, the Finance Director, will discuss some of the suggestions made by the Blue Ribbon Panel for increasing revenue or decreasing expenses. City staff will update council on the Clear Creek Corridor Managment Plan. A Study Session will follow the business meeting, during which the Parks and Rec board will update Council on its 2013 work plan. After that, Council will interview 7 candidates for 4 appointments on the Parks and Rec board.
The Golden High School Orchestra will perform tonight at 7, at the High School (701 24th Street).
