Want to deepen your love of the natural world, notice nature’s tiniest details and spend time surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors? Then start keeping a sketchbook nature journal! Join us for a free journaling field trip in a Jeffco Open Space Park each month and make this activity a habit.
From the soft fur on mammals to the bumpy ridges of tree bark, textures abound in nature. Observe and explore the nature center’s indoor exhibits and specimen collections while discovering how to use a variety of pen strokes to record the surface characteristics of natural objects in your journals. Please remember to bring an item for a shared potluck dinner.
