The Golden Library has “Ukulele Wednesdays” on the last Wednesday of the month–and that’s tonight–from 6-7:30. Got a Ukulele? Know a few chords or songs? Dinosaur Ridge is having an Everything Dinosaur Talk tonight, about Archosaurs, at 6PM.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife will host a public meeting tonight from 6:30-8PM to discuss bears in the metro area. The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the euthanization of the sow and cubs at the Apex Trail in September, ask questions about bear management in Colorado, and discuss how the community can move forward and assist with positive actions for bears locally. The Lookout Mountain Nature Center will hold “Jeffco Open Space Nature Journal Club: Sketching Mammals” from 5:30-8:30. The Golden History Museum is hosting a lecture tomorrow night at 6PM, “Murder and the Shanghai Prize Fighter.” Robert S. “Batt” Battalino was a prizefighter who was good enough to star on the TV sports show The Greatest Fights of the Century, and was evil enough to commit murder in the foothills west of Golden. You will hear the story of Batt’s life, his crime, and the bond he formed with the County Sheriff as he faced death in the gas chamber. Learn more….
Foothills Art Center is having an “Art on Tap – Ugly Sweater Decorating Party” Thursday night from 6-8PM. Bring an old sweater and meet us up in Petersen Classroom to adorn it for the upcoming holiday season. Golden City Brewery will be providing the beer, and we will be providing the decorating supplies (paint, glitter, and a plethora of unique items). Bring a friend or a date and get crafty with Foothills staff members. THIS IS A 21+ EVENT. Admission to Foothills Art Center and the program is free for our Members.
