The most important point of the day: Happy Birthday to Our Fabulous Mayor, Marjorie Sloan!
Tonight is a first Friday celebration downtown. The street fairs are over for the year, but there’s still plenty going on. Baby Doe’s Clothing is celebrating 15 years in business with a week-long celebration that kicks off today, with a reception from 4-8. Stop in during the reception, enjoy the refreshments, and receive a 15% discount on your purchases (artisan and sale items excluded). The Chamber of Commerce will host a celebratory ribbon-cutting at 5:15.
There will be a reception and green expo at the Mountaineering Center from 4-8. If you’ve been thinking of adding solar to your home, here’s a great chance to meet a bunch of solar-savvy people.
Avenue Gifts will be open late, offering discounts throughout the store.
The Golden Quilt Company is holding their monthly Quilt til you Wilt party from 5PM until…well, I guess until you wilt.
And as always, there will be free carriage rides through downtown.
