Here’s what to expect for tonight’s Candlelight Walk:
Pictures with Santa Claus at Foothills Art Center (4:30 – 6 pm) •
Foothills Art Center, 809 15th Street
Enjoy free family pictures with Santa Claus while exploring the Holiday Art Market featuring fine handcrafted art and holiday gifts. Enjoy cocoa and cookies. Donations appreciated.
The crowd will gather at Foothills Art Center at 6:00 p.m. at 15th and Arapahoe Streets for pre-walk caroling, dancing, and pictures with Santa. Visitors may purchase candles from the Golden Chamber or bring their own. Festive dress is encouraged. The walk begins at 6:30 p.m. and will end in Parfet Park for the annual Christmas Showcase emceed by Ed Greene from Channel 4 and lighting of thousands of holiday lights all along Clear Creek. After the trees are light, the city will put on a fireworks show. Expect the fireworks sometime between 7 and 7:30.
After that, plan to stroll around between the Visitors Center, Golden History Center, Clear Creek History Park, Library, and downtown. Here’s what you’ll find in this those locations:

Live Music and Exhibits at Golden History Center (6 – 8 pm) •
Golden History Center, 923 10th Street
Stroll through the Golden History Center and make an ornament to hang on the museum’s Christmas tree while listening to music on a historic piano by the students of Heather Klenske from 7 – 8 pm. Admission to the museum is free. 303-278-3557
Chestnuts, Cider and Activities at Clear Creek History Park (6 – 8 pm) •
Clear Creek History Park, Arapahoe and 11th Streets
Try a chestnut roasted by the Kiwanis Club of Golden or enjoy warm cider from the Lion’s Club. Explore the inside of the Pearce/Helps Cabin, smell fresh baked goods from the wood-fired oven, watch live blacksmithing, and enjoy music and singing. Free admission. 303-278-3557
Warm Drinks, Sweet Treats & Quilt Shop Sale at Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum (6 – 8 pm) •

Destination Dance Performance on the Creek (6 – 8 pm) •

Watch local Golden children and adults perform to holiday music in the creekside amphitheater behind the Golden Visitors Center. Free.
