The calm before the (Fine Arts) storm

City Council meets tonight at 6:30 in City Council Chambers.  They will welcome a delegation from the Republic of Georgia, who are here to study or trash and recycling programs.  They will vote on whether to approve an agreement to host next weekend’s USA Pro Challenge bicycle race.  They will watch a video that recognizes the efforts of the volunteers who helped organize this year’s Pro Challenge.

Staff will report to council on progress made on their various “Signature Initiatves,” which include A Vibrant Economy, Sustainable Choices and the Environment; Healthy People.  Council will also consider items discussed at a “mini-retreat” last spring, many of which touched on improving city communications–among councilors, with other government entities, and with citizens.  As always, you can learn more about these topics by reading the meeting packet.  The meeting will be streamed live through the city website.

You only have two weekends left to see Pump Boys and Dinettes at Miners Alley Playhouse.

Tuesday August 11th was Bill Coors’ 99th birthday!
