Golden History Moment

For those of you who don’t check email over the weekend, on Saturday I wrote about 13 stores from 50 years ago, and on Sunday I wrote about Golden’s first public drinking fountain.

Just a short one today: the photo on the left, above, comes from the Golden Landmarks Association collection. The one on the right is a Google Satellite image. The M doesn’t show well in the modern image because it’s dusted with snow, but it is interesting to see the additions over time–Highway 6, Highway 58, the Mines athletic fields, and the Beverly Heights neighborhood.
