Golden Senior Santa - Golden Colorado

Giving
Based on various Facebook posts, several of our non-profit organizations did very well through yesterday’s Colorado Gives Day.

If you’re looking for a more tangible way to give, consider being a Golden Senior Santa. You can stop by Maki Sushi, Windy Saddle Cafe, Aegis Realty, or Connects Workspace to pick up a tag for a particular senior, go buy a gift for that person, and return it to the business. They’ll giftwrap it and deliver it the Senior Resource Center, the Neighborhood Rehab Project, or Canyongate senior apartments. They have the names of almost 100 local seniors; where possible, they find out directly or through a caregiver some “wish list” items so the gifts can be personalized – which might range from “a warm pair of socks” to a sweater to a toaster, and typically cost $25 to $50.

If you prefer buying toys, consider supporting the Christian Action Guild‘s Santa Shop. Just donate a new, unwrapped toy or a cash donation earmarked for buying toys. Bring your donation to the Christian Action Guild at 14th and Ford, or leave a toy in the collection box at Meyer Hardware, the Golden Mill, Brian Fox Farmers Insurance Agency, On Tap Credit Union,Table Mountain Inn, Golden Visitors Center, Golden Curves, Golden Walgreens, Natural Grocers, Alphagraphics, Golden Real Estate, Miners Saloon, Golden Moon Speakeasy, RE/MAX Alliance, Trailhead Taphouse, Red Wagon Gift and Garden Shop, Golden Roots Salon, or the Old Capitol Grill and Smokehouse.
