The Sustainability Board will meet tonight at 6PM in City Council Chambers. They will hear from a consultant who assessed the feasibility of Golden’s generating some hydroelectric power. Several sites within our water supply system were evaluated for technical and economic feasibility. It’s an interesting study.
The City is frequently asked to join climate advocacy organizations. The board will evaluate their current memberships as well as the outstanding invitations, and will provide a recommendation on the topic to City Council in March.
They will discuss RTD’s proposed service changes. This is a frustrating issue for Golden, since the City has taken action–including funding circulator buses–to encourage use of public transportations, while service cuts will likely discourage use. City Council will also discuss the RTD issue at their meeting tomorrow night. They will vote on a resolution asking RTD to delay the proposed service cuts and to consider fare cuts.
