March 11-17th was Sunshine Week, which, according to the American Society of News Editors and Reporters, is “the annual nationwide celebration of access to public information and what it means for you and your community.”
Yesterday, during his Coffee with a Councilor, Casey Brown said that one of City Council’s goals for the year is to improve the City of Golden’s government transparency. This is wonderful news.
Regular readers know that I am a big advocate of government transparency. I have great hopes for improved information transparency in the coming year.
Another Council goal for the year is figuring out what to do with the Astor House and putting it back into some kind of service.
Continuing the effort begun last year, Council will work to balance the new affordable housing goals with the small town environment described in our Vision 2030 Plan.
Council awaits the findings of the Investment Task Force, to see which (if any) of the items on our wish list should be funded.
