The Girls in the STEM competition will be presenting their results in the Library from 5:30-7:30 this evening. Students from the Colorado School of Mines will be judging the projects and the winners will be honored at the International Women’s Day Luncheon on March 8th. Stop by the library and see what they came up with!
Jefferson County Open Space is hosting a talk on Coyotes tonight from 6-8 at 700 Jefferson County Parkway (map). Whether you are concerned or curious about coyotes, you’ll want to attend this talk highlighting recent findings on coyote biology, ecology and behavior as it impacts Jeffco residents. Mary Ann Bonnell, JCOS Visitor Services Manager will be our speaker. She has been instrumental in promoting coyote awareness in our region.
The Colorado Environmental Film Festival starts tomorrow, with a FREE community night from 7-9:30! Opening Night festivities will include the screening of three short films and the presentation of film awards. The evening will be hosted by acclaimed local photographer John Fielder, who will conclude the evening by leading a lively discussion panel and Question/Answer session with the following panelists:
- Patty Limerick – Colorado State Historian and Faculty Director and Chair of the Board of the Center of the American West at the University of Colorado Boulder
- Dr. Jonathan Ormes – Research Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and an advisor for Mediators Without Borders
- Dave Johnson – Denver Zoo Zookeeper and Founder of Team Nepalorado and the Katie Adamson Conservation Fund
