Spring break starts in three weeks.  The Golden Community Center, Foothills Art Center, the Railroad Museum, and Free Horizon Montessori are all offering camps.

Are you looking for summer camps?  We keep a detailed list of camp offerings in Golden on our CAMPS AND CLASSES page.  For elementary school children, the Golden History Museums offer a Hands-On History Camp, where children learn pioneer skills, such as wood stove cooking.  If your child is more of a paleontologist at heart, consider the Dinosaur Ridge camp.  Have an artist?  Foothills Art Center has just what you need.  Naturalist?  Try Eagle’s Nest Owl’s Roost, offerred by 4H.  Engineer?  We have one of the foremost engineer schools in the world right here in Golden…and they have summer camps!  The camp at the City of Golden Recreation Center makes full use their facilities–the gym, the pool, and the park–plus they have weekly field trips.

There are several options for teens as well, offered by the School of Mines, City of Golden, and Colorado Mountain Club.

Some of the camps will have representatives at the Golden Library this afternoon from 4-6PM.  This will be a good chance to explore possibilities and ask questions.  You can also learn about the Library’s summer events.
