If you ordered a garden-in-a-box, this is the day to pick it up.  They’ll be at the Public Works building, 1445 10th Street (map).  Even if you didn’t pre-order, you can go there and buy individual xeric-type plants and low-water irrigation equipment.  You can also pick up some free mulch…just bring your own container.  They’ll be there from 9-12, so don’t be late!

After you get your plants, stop by GoFarm’s SpringUp! celebration at Ford and Water Streets, behind the Golden Mill.  From 11AM-2PM they’ll be serving fresh grilled organic food and refreshments.  You can preview their locally-sourced products, enjoy free face painting, pose at the veggie photo booth, learn about composting & vermiculture, enjoy live music, participate in a tree dedication, meet local author David Wann (and have him sign a copy of The Zen of Gardening) and more!  This is a FREE event.

State Representative Jessie Danielson will hold a town hall meeting this morning from 10-11 in City Council Chambers.  This is a good chance to hear what was accomplished during the legislative session that just ended.  You can congratulate her on the Rain Barrel legislation that now makes it legal to store two 55-gallon barrels of rainwater.  Changing Western water law is an impressive accomplishment!

There’s a car show from 10-3 today at Arapahoe Park, 4450 Indiana Street (map).  They’ll have music by DJ Van Jeffries Mobile Rock N’ Roll, a 50/50 Drawing, Lots of Door Prizes, 2-Best of Shows (Pre-1950, Post-1950), Awards in Classes, Reaction Tree Contest, Swap Meet, Pancake Breakfast!
